John Cavicchi, J.D., Associate General Counsel
John Cavicchi is semi-retired from the practice of law though he is a member in good standing of the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals for the First and Eleventh Circuits, Federal District Court (Massachusetts), and the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
John's is a General Law Practice, consisting of civil and extensive experience in criminal jury and non jury trials in Massachusetts. He has tried complex issues from Swine Flu litigation to Medical Malpractice and Civil Rights Violations. He has also written numerous briefs and petitions for writs of certiorari, and have argued cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First and Elevents Circuits, as well as the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In fact, his firm settled a complicated environmental litigation representing multiple plaintiffs. He has also drafted legislation and testified in support of legislation before the Massachusetts General Court.
John also has considerable experience in EEOC, MSPB, and federal employment discrimination cases with agencies such as Customs and Border Protection. He has made numerous television appearances relative to highly publicized cases where he was the attorney of record. He also participated as a witness before the House Committee on Government Reform investigation entitled, Everything Secret Degenerates: The FBI's Use of Murderers as Informants.
John served as a Trial Advisor, Harvard Law School, Trial Advocacy Workshop in the mid-1980s. He participated with other lawyers and judges in advising and supervising law school students on trial strategy, preparation and performance for an accredited course in trial practice.
John has a diverse educational background having earned his Juris Doctorate at Suffolk University Law School, and his B.A. Degree from Holy Cross College. He has also completed courses of studies at such institutions as Universita Italiana per Stranieri, Perugia; Centro Fiorenza at Isola d'Elba; The Sorbonne, Paris; and the Hague Academy of International Law.
John Cavicchi served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, and received an Honorable Discharge at the end of his service.
